The ERS-31X aibo line includes the ERS-311 (Latte), ERS-312 (Macaron), and ERS-31L (Pug) along with their Bluetooth variants.
The 3xx series was introduced as a budget aibo model targeted towards women and children. They were the cheapest model of aibo ever to be released. Overall, they were not received well in the west. Japan loved them though!
They feature functionality similar to the 2xx series but with less moving parts and pet sensors. Their main interaction points is the hidden pet mechanism in their head and the tail which is actually a joystick!
The 3xx series lacked the LED visor that the ERS-210 had, and would instead express their mood with the LED “horn” on their head.
All models came with a stand, AC adaptor, charging dongle and battery. Station core and software were optional.
ERS-31X Software and Behavior

The 31X series has many different software available, as they still use the memory stick system. Here’s a quick list of them all!
- AIBO Life
- AIBO Pal/Friend
- AIBO Pal SE
- Kawaii AIBO
- Long Long Panda
- Chatty Life
- Hello AIBO! Chatty
- Deka Voice
Each software has different behavior and mannerisms. Most are available for download at this point, so trying them all to find your favorite is the best idea.
ERS-31X Design
The ERS-31X series is very round in general. They are a far departure from every other aibo model, as they were created to be as cute as possible. These dogs also had a unique offering – a shell that could totally change the look of the dog.
Colors
The ERS-31X aibo series comes in a few different colors: macaron, latte, and the pug with a couple variations. These guys are the only model to have different model designations for their colors!
