The ERS-11X line includes the ERS-110 – the very first model of aibo – and the ERS-111.

ERS-110s were a limited release, and are thus harder to come by. They have longer tails and rounded ears, while ERS-111s have angled ears and shorter tails.

Due to their age, they have less features than any other model of aibo. They have only a single pet sensor, and lack any voice recognition. You’ll have to use tonal beeps from an online source (or a remote) to communicate with them.

That being said, many people (myself included) love ERS-11X series dogs! They still have a lot to offer – they are fully autonomous and you can raise them from a baby just like every other model.

All ERS-110s and 111s shipped with a charging station, sound controller, adoption certificate, AC adaptor, pink ball and two batteries.

ERS-11X Software and Behavior

Photo: Bilby

The ERS-110 series has multiple different software available. They utilize the memory stick system.

  • Aiboware
  • Hello Aibo
  • Party Mascot

Each software has different behavior and mannerisms. Most are available for download at this point, so you can test them all to see which one you like the most.

ERS-11X Colors and Design

The ERS-11X series looks very robotic. They have very square-shaped bodies and are overall quite angular. ERS-111s come in two colors, while ERS-110s come in only one.

Silver (ERS-111)

The silver ERS-111 is a neutral shiny shade of light gray with darker gray claws. They are slightly metallic.

Black (ERS-111)

The black ERS-111 is, well, entirely black. Like their silver counterpart, they have a slight metallic sheen on their body shells.

Silver (ERS-110)

Silver ERS-110s look similar to silver ERS-111s, but they are slightly more bronze in color. They also have lighter gray claws and joints.
