Bittle Overview:
The cute little Bittle is a fairly advanced quadruped robot in a small dog-shaped package. It is not autonomous at all out of the box, and is designed for people who are interested in robotics and programming. However, it makes all of that extremely accessible!
This little robot is, by far, the most affordable entry in to learning about quad robots currently available. It does also come with some basic control features out of the box that allow you to steer the robotic dog around and have it perform various actions. It is absolutely fascinating if you have never seen a quad robot in person!
You can give it the ability to “see” with a camera add-on and understand voice commands with an additional add-on. You can even get the entire robot in a DIY kit, where you can experience building him and calibrating him yourself.
Despite how cool it is though, Bittle isn’t for everyone. If you are looking for a robotic pet that behaves autonomously right out of the box, you won’t get that with Bittle. This robot dog is designed to be programmed and tinkered with. Petoi encourages this by having tons of tutorials and educational materials available, and overall encourages DIY for their robots.
One thing that is fantastic about Bittle is that Petoi sells every spare part imaginable, and some things are even 3D printable.
Bittle is best for teenagers and adults, and could work great for kids with adult help and supervision.
